One Headache Out of the Way
My five year old laptop has the unfortunate habit of crashing when I'm in the middle of conversations with my business partners. It did it again today. That problem ends later this week when my new computer arrives, courtesy of our business. The thing is armored with shock absorbers so that I can schlep it all over the country, which I will need to be doing shortly.
For the last month, I've been afraid to look at my computer. It overheats and shuts off by itself, even with the $10 fan I have blowing over the business end of the thing all the time. I don't know about you, but I'm not a techie, I'm a writer, and when my computer goes south on me it seriously scares the bejeebers out of me. Knowing that those kinds of fears are coming to an end is a source of real relief.
I described what my computer is doing to my tech genius this morning, he's a former EMT. He said, "This is ventricular fibrulation, if you get my drift."
