The Passover Table
Passover is coming:
First Seder - Night of Monday, April 2
First Day - Tuesday, April 3
Second Seder - Night of Tuesday, April 3
Second Day - Wednesday, April 4
Seventh Day - Monday, April 9
Eighth Day - Tuesday, April 10
I haven't been able to do many recipes lately because a touchy stomach has turned off any interest in food, but I'm recovering now. Passover recipes from around the world will be in the house in the coming week.
Sidenote: Elayne Riggs buried her dad yesterday and her Passover is going to be complicated by the requirements of sitting shiva. Our prayers and thoughts go out to her, Robin, and her entire family.
A Passover Haggadah and seder manual for those of you trying this for the first time.
Comments
Thank you for your lovely condolences, Melanie. We're getting up from shiva on Monday morning, and Robin will be helping my brother Jay and sister-in-law Kara prepare the house for Pesach. Kara's parents are making seder both nights, which my Mom will attend, so the rest of the family is in okay shape as far as observance is concerned. I'm not as observant as they are, so Robin and I are removing all the chametz for them and bringing it home with us on Monday (along with tons and tons of fruit from all the memorial baskets that have been coming here to Jay's house, which Dad would have loved to see).
