Middle Age

I just spent two hours hunting for my glasses. Of course, at my age I can't find my glasses without my glasses on.

Been there, done that. Insanely frustrating and scary.

Mitigations:

  • Spare pair. Always in a case; case always in a known location you can find with eyes closed.

If you use "reading" glasses for computer work, which I do, this can be taken en passant

  • A headlight. Like the ones sold under Streamlight brand name, that fit around the forehead on elastic bands, and run off three AAA cells.
  • Glasses or no glasses, the stuff you can find with one of these around your head, and the speed at which you can find it, particularly in a visually cluttered and/or poor light environment, is just mind-boggling.

Hi Mel,

I gave up and bought half a dozen pairs of cheap specs that i leave littered about the place. At least that helps me find the proper ones.

BTW, next stage is the CRAFT moment.

Can't Remember A Fscking Thing, let alone where you left the glasses.

Yes, I've done that. Have you ever walked up to a roomy and asked (gesticulating wildly), Have you seen my glasses? Razor sharp eyes focused on the hand holding the glasses...
And they will not lasik my eyes either.. Bastards!

These aren't my cheap reading glasses, these are my insanely expensive prescription glasses that I nees for driving that I bought the last time I had insurance.
